Ladies and gentlemen, start your appetites, the Fishtown Chili Cookoff returns this Sunday, March 30 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Presented by the Fishtown Neighbors Association, the chili cookoff brings the best of Fishtown’s restaurant scene — and amateur chili chefs — to the spotlight.
Look forward to chili prepared by chefs from Sketch Burger (last year’s winner), Loco Pez, Cook and Shaker, Johnny Brenda’s, Cedar Point Bar and Kitchen, Bottle Bar East and more, in addition to dishes provided by 15 amateur cooks from the area.
Pair your chili with fresh bread from Metropolitan Bakery and beer provided by Philadelphia Brewing Company, St. Benjamin’s Brewing and Second Story Brewing.
Awards will be given out for three categories — best restaurant chili, people’s choice award and best amateur chili.
The panel of judges is slated to be made up of local restaurant industry leaders – chef George Sabatino of Morgan’s Pier, chef Jen Carroll from Top Chef and Caroline Russock, the food editor of City Paper.

Admission is $15 in advance and $10 at the door. Those who purchase tickets in advance have the option of also purchasing a commemorative Fishtown Tavern pint glass for an additional $3.
Tickets are available online.

The Fishtown Chili Cookoff benefits Alexander Adaire Middle School, funds raised will go toward improving the school’s technology lab. Fishtown Chili Cookoff
