The spring an summer months are usually swarming with buyers which increases the possibility of loosing out on a home you have your heart set on. How often do we hear of instances where buyers miss out on a home because they needed a day or two to think?   This makes winter time an attractive time to buy.  You’re able to take your time and sleep on your decision, giving you more peace of mind regarding the biggest purchase you’ll ever make in your life.

With less buyers in the market buyers are usually more motivated to sell.  Even though inventory may be low, sellers tend not to expect bidding wars on their home.  More often than not sellers during the winter months are trying to unload property that have either been on the market longer than expected, need to move as soon as possible or encountered situations where selling their home fast is all they’re focused on. This increases your chances of scoring a great deal.

The “prime time” of buying during the spring and summer are great when you consider aesthetics such as checking out a manicured lawn, flowers and rooms bursting with sunlight. However, the ugly truth is bidding wars are far too common.  Why risk the chance of finding yourself offering more than you originally intended to spend.  Keep your budget and sanity intact and peruse the winter inventory.

Agents Are Not as Swamped, More Focus is On You

Let’s face it with a flurry of activity, realtors are swarming around showing homes, selling homes, closing deals and prospecting new business.  Although a great agent will give you the attention you need, winter months tend to be the best time to build a great report. This will ensure that you get the ultimate one-on-one attention.
