Fall officially arrives this week, and with the change of season comes dozens of autumnal excellence in the city and the region.

Some of the season’s most exciting art exhibitions continue outdoors this week, including Cai Guo-Qiang: Fireflies (glowing pedicabs along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway) and Monument Lab (20 thought-provoking installations throughout the city).

Fall festival season continues this week with major events. Mark those calendars for the Fall Festival at Spruce Street Harbor Park, the Philly Cheesesteak and Food Fest and the Chestnut Hill Fall For the Arts Festival. Plus, Philadelphia’s amazing haunted house Terror Behind the Walls kicks off its 2017 season on Friday, September 22.

Philadelphia’s awesome annual Fringe Festival wraps up its 21st year this Sunday after more than 1,000 performances at dozens of locations throughout the city. Ditto for the inaugural O17 Festival, which continues through the weekend with operatic happenings.
